Truckers nightmares

Problem:

Truckers are afraid of two things. Tipping over and hitting something that is harder or bigger than they are.

The latter is the most deadly of the two. Modern front steering trucks have a very minor crash zone; at least comparable to the rest of the truck and the weight of the cargo.

Nose trucks would be the solution but the negative consequences for other traffic does not make this a feasible alternative.

Solution:

Adding a meter long crash zone to the front of the truck  however will not significantly lengthen the overtaking time of the truck, will ensure that the driver still has good visibility on anything or anybody in front of his truck, but will enable truck manufacturers to greatly enhance the crash zone of the truck. It will also enable them to move the large protective front axle forward in front of the driver.
